The following information has been provided by Alan's daughter Anne.

 

 

 

 

"As far as his service with 454 Dad never really spoke about it,

he said it was too upsetting.

 

After the war Dad joined the regular army

where he stayed until he retired. He was a couple of months off

becoming Lt.Colonel, he was in charge of both Eastern and Northern

Command as was The Assistant Director of army health.

 

The last time he marched with 454 was in his army uniform.

 

Naturally dad was still in

the army during Vietnam and I can remember him coming home from doing

all nighters at Vic.Barracks distressed and very tired,
