20 February 1942 - Burg el Arab, Win Fowles arrived in a cab from Cairo with Leading Aircraftman Keith Boyling.

Win's description on the back of the photo:

"Xmas Day 1942. Note long hair. It is now

12-1-43 and I still haven't seen a barber."

 

 

"In the pub at Tel Aviv - slightly blotto."

  

Win Fowles' son Win writes:

[My father is front second left.

There are no names given but I assume that the

other three are 459 Squadron officers.

Interesting that none seem to be wearing their rank insignia, possibly because they are in an OR's bar -

see the Sergeant sitting at rear left.]
